The art of selling with the help of advertisement

   Have you ever wondered how come you are playing on a same server with thousands of other players from whom a good percentage are rolling with the same professions like you, but for some reason while you can sell like one or two items at a time, you hear they've sold ten, or even more times more then you have, so what gives?

   Well advertisement of course, when you want to move an item, you have (we are not talking about fast moving items like gems and glyphs to an extent) the best chance of getting some serious gold using the troll's lair AKA the trade channel. Now, if it's so simple why isn't everyone doing it you might ask, and the answer on that question would be, NO.

   What i mean with that is, 90% of the people that i've seen in trade channel are doing their ads just wrong.  What i mean by that is, you don't go about on trade channel with something like:  WTS [X Item] xx gold, no, no, no you have to use a bit of a advertisement finesse, and i'll elaborate a bit on this.

   Lets say you are selling one of the BoE items you can get with Valor points. Usually you'll see people barking trade channel with something like WTS Valor Wrists 5K gold, or some other random number like that. Well the right way to approach this would be for starters, DON'T tell everyone that it's the Valor wrists but put the link of the actual item in trade, and check the price on the AH for the highest one. Usually there's a few on the AH going for twice their asking price in trade. And when you are selling them just use your imagination and make it sound nice, i'll even throw in an example.

   WTS [insert item (wrists for this instance)], because we all know that if you want to get into raiding you need your performance to outshine all the other people in the raid, so get your best in slot item here.

   Now, i am aware that in that bark there's a bunch of information that is probably not all true, but the beauty is that it doesn't have to be. Maybe those bracers are not BIS but all that matters is that you make the sale, and that the buyer is happy he got a good deal, even though he probably overpaid for it. So basically if you want to up your sales your best bet is advertisement, so it's pretty much like that.

  And as a few more examples i will post a few of the cheeky ads i have for a few items of interest that i've sold.

Certificate Of Ownership

Still curse the day when you named your dear pet Cockmonster, well despair no more there's a way to fix that. Get your Certificate Of Ownership and change your pet's name. On the AH now

Fortune Cookie

Off to a raid,need food Fortune Cookie on the AH. Get your class best food buff along side with a chance to get Fortune Card and profit 5K gold


   And one more thing that is essential, when you are making your trade barking macro, you need to make sure that you are linking the items in the macro it self so the people can actually know what they are getting, opposed to a bunch of text that they automatically discarding as spam, or troll talk.

Got no professions but need gold, step right up !

  Ok, to be honest most of us don't remember those times when we were starting out the game, and everything was magical, and expensive, but we couldn't afford it because it was 10G. Well, for a lot of people it's still the same, but instead of those initial 10G ages ago, when there were no dailies to give you 300G per day, you had a quest that would give you 1g and those were finite. 

   

   Well now it's pretty much the same but the items cost 500g or 5000g, and your gathering professions are simply not cutting it when the stacks of herbs, or ore are selling for 10-15G for stack (price varies from server to server so don't take it for granted) so what do you do?

  Well you need some gold income, and how do you go about making it?  Well it's quite simple actually, you jump in a market that's usually not that crowded with suppliers, but has some nice amount of people increasing the demand.

  Ok, so by now you are thinking, what the hell is he talking about, and what is this market that we can use? Well PETS of course, and no, i'm not talking about dogs and cats, well actually there are cats but still i'm talking about those non combat companions, that you can get from all over the world, from random drops or vendors.

  Now that we have the market that we want to get into, i will give you a short info on where to get the pets, and how you should set the pricing for them. I will start by giving you the zone name and then the name of the vendor that you should visit as well as what he sells.

  So, in a bunch those are the vendors that will sell you the pets for cheap gold, that later you can use on the AH and flip them for profits. As for the rest of the pets that can be purchased through other means or crafted i'll leave those for a next post hopefully coming in the very near future.

The tools (addons) you will use

Ok so like every solder needs his weapon to do his job right that's about the same with everyone that wants to make gold in WoW but instead of a weapon we utilize addons. Here i'll try and give you the run down of the essential addons you'll be using on your way to becoming a millionaire WoWer, so lets get started.

TSM (Trade Skill Master)

This addon is your bread and butter when it comes down posting large amounts of items and quickly checking the AH if someone has undercut you. (Do know that it takes some time to understand how it works but its time well spent learning it)

Auctioneer
One of the best addons that deals with the auction house and mass buying and selling of items

Auctionator
About the same as the one above but for some reason some people prefer it to Auctioneer but i say use em both.

Bulk Mail
This is the addon that makes mailing huge amounts of items from one character to the other not being a pain in the ... back.

Mail Opener
This is what you use when you get 1200 mails in your inbox but you don't want to spend an hour at your mailbox collecting them.

MySales
Not as much as a gold making addon as it is a gold tracking addon that gives you a run down of what you've sold how many and for what prices.

Inventorium
This addon will either make you love it or hate it, but if you like making a stock of items and keeping it up for continued sales that this addon will make it so so easy to keep track of what you have and what you need to craft in order to have it in stock.

Panda
Last but not least is this addon that will make your job (disenchanting, milling or ore crushing) a fast and easy task.

Those were the basic tools but i'd like to give you a few more sites that i've personally used and loved to help me dominate a market or a competitor in a certain market.

The Undermine Journal or for our US goblins, as for people that play on servers that are not on English language they can check out wowTrader or AHSpy

So there we go this should be the bare minimum you have for addons and sites that will keep your needs for auction house information and profession needs sated.

The Very Basics

OK i know that i said in my first introductory post that all the upcoming posts will be about ways to make gold i'd like to use this post to clarify few of the things that you need to know before you start off on your quest which is to never ever be broke and on the verge of thinking of buying gold from the dubious gold sellers.

  Ok for starters, in the blog i will cover some tactics of how to earn gold by using the auction house for finding deals, i will try and cover the bases on using your professions to make killer profits and i will even cover ways of making gold for the people out there that are emotionally attached to their gathering professions like skinning, herbalism and mining and don't want to drop them.

  All you fine people have to do is simple, keep your minds open for new ideas, don't be afraid to invest gold even when at first it seems that you are gonna go bust, and in case you are one of those people that feel like that using addons in the game is cheating take a shotgun and shoot that feeling in the head.
So to sum it up, you might even call this the intro part two to the blog, if you want to make gold by using my advices you will have to do the following things:
 

• Be willing to invest some of your play time into making things that will make you rich

• Be willing to download, install and use addons that are specifically meant for the Auction House

• Be willing to invest in some big bags because you will need them so you'll have somewhere to put all that gold that you are gonna get :)

Hello World !

Well as all good things have to start somewhere, i'm guessing this is as good as any other place to start my blog. Here is where i will deal with all the tricks, and tips of making piles of gold in the game that we all love, called World Of Warcraft.

  

  Seeing how this is my first post i'll simply use it to tell you all something about my WoW life and who i am:

  For starters i've been knee deep in the game since Beta, you know back when hunters could wear plate and warlocks could fear 30 people in AV at the same time. I've played the game through Vanilla, TBC, WOTLK and Cata.

  I played on the US realms on The Scryers server for the first 2 years, and then migrated to the EU realms on the Skullcrusher server. I switched a few guilds there in the start, but then i got into Paranormal and i've been there for the better part of almost 4 years. Through the years i have leveled and played 10 characters, and all the possible professions in the game, and the only thing that hasn't changed in all those expansion packs and guild hopping and character swapping was my interest in the game within the game or better known as the Auction house.

  We all have seen it and have sold our junk and our pride in it, but I like some other people have enjoyed using that aspect of the game to amass huge quantities of gold that we can use for purchasing the other things we might need to make the game more interesting for us.

  But to cut the boring history short, the main reason why i finally decided to make the blog was mainly the huge amount of people asking me how i'm making the huge amounts of gold that i'm making so i wanted to have a place that i can direct people to go and check it out for themselves and prooly use it so they can make some gold as well.

  So since we got the flimsy introductions out of the way hopefully starting the next post we'll start seeing some gold making strategies and tricks.
