Farming Infinite Dust

It is a common knowledge that most of the professions in the game are made so that they can compliment each others, well to be honest Blizzard are kinda leaning away from that model as they are trying to make each profession as independent as possible but this is not the point here. Anyone that has leveled enchanting in the past, or is maybe leveling an enchanter now knows that it is a rather expensive profession to level and especially when you get to the Northrend level of materials and you get to be in very short supply of Infinite Dust.

There are a few ways to go about the acquisition of Infinite Dust, but by far the most profitable way is by mixing up the two top end professions, Jewelcrafting and Enchanting.

The way to actually farm Infinite Dust from Jewelcrafting is very simple, heck it's the predecessor of today's Obsidium/Elementium Ore Shuffle, but to be more precise you are going to be making rings and necklaces yet again. You will need 4 resources which happen to be very cheap, and the best part is you can buy them straight from the AH for almost next to nothing for most of the time.

The resources that i am talking about are the common gems that you get when you prospect the Northrend equivalent ore, and those are the Chalcedony, Bloodstone, Sun Crystal and Huge Citrine. If you check your auction house you will notice that most of the time they are moving for abysmally low prices of some times being as low as 2g per gem. After you have obtained the gems you need to get some Eternal Earth that you can shatter so you end up with the Crystallyzed Earth that you will need as well.

So now that you have purchased the said gems and Eternal Earth what do you do that will be worth calling it Infinite Dust Farming ? Well you take those and you make them into Bloodstone Bands, Crystal Chalcedony Amulet, Crystal Citrine Necklace and Sun Rock Ring. After making these you need to ship them off to your Enchanter to do his disenchanting and you end up with your cheap supply of Infinite Dust. And another thing is that when you are disenchanting these you might end up with Lesser Cosmic Essences that you can sell or use as well.

Just so you get the idea on how important your stock is going to be to anyone leveling enchanting, to level past the threshold you will need 600x Infinite Dust and 30x Greater Cosmic Essences that you will get by combining the Lesser Cosmic Essences, and this is for a single guy alone. So you can see that the demand for this is rather high and the supply is always low.

In a future post i will give you an idea of how to further improve on the profit margin by investing some more time into the enchanting part of the whole deal, but for now i will leave it at this.

So, like always, keep an eye out for good opportunities out there.

P.S. If you do get in this market you might want to check the prices of the Abyss Crystals so you can shatter them and obtain some more Infinite Dust and Essences. ( Kudos for the last P.S. addition goes to @Yngvede for noticing it and posting it on Twitter )

Profiting From Enchanting

In this post we are going to go over on how to make gold from enchanting. This time around though i will not go about with how to make gold from selling some TBC, Vanilla or WOTLK pattern that will be making you gold but rather focus on the current top tier enchants.

Since we are going to be looking at the top tier enchants, you should know that there will be a general need for four resources Hypnotic Dust, Heavenly Shards, Greater Celestial Essences and Maelstrom Crystals. Now this is all general knowledge, but still people that have enchanting are hesitant to get into the business with the excuse that they can't sell anything. Well if you are one of those people i am here to tell you that you have been wrong all this time, and i will try and help you get a better idea as to how obtain the materials in order to cut some expenses and in return increase your profits.

First thing first before we start off, you need to go and get all the patterns from the vendor that you can buy with Heavenly Shards and Maelstroms. Now that you have armed yourself with the basic tools you are standing on the same game field as your competition. But now you need to do a few more investments into improving your arsenal so you are one step above the average casual player, and this means that you will buy the formulas for the bracer enchants. There are three of these enchants and they are the Agility, Strength and Intellect , and there are two ways to obtain these, either kill things and hope you get it ( slim chance ) or buy them off the Auction House ( better choice ).

Hypnotic Dust
Ok now you have the patterns, next you need to get the materials. Now the best way to get the Hypnotic Dust as well as the Greater Celestial Essences is the Ore Shuffle, and you can even get some Heavenly Shards if you decide to DE the blue Nightstone Chokers

Heavenly Shard
Though the best source to get your Heavenly Shards would be to DEing these next items:
If you have a Jewelcrafter Vicious Amberjewel Bands and Vicious Sapphire Ring depending on the prices of the volatiles on the auction house.

In case you don't have a Jewelcrafter on your disposal, but you have a Blacksmith then it would come down to getting your Shards from DEing Stormforged Shoulders.

If you don't have neither a Jewelcrafter or a Blacksmith but a Scribe you can get your Heavenly Shards from DEing Etched Horn.

Now if you happen to be one of those people that has neither of those professions, well then you should be leveling one of those professions, and in the meanwhile you will be getting your Heavenly Shards from the Auction House.

Maelstrom Crystal
Now that we have the Heavenly Shards covered it only leaves the Maelstrom Crystals. Getting those requires that you DE actual epic items, and the only way in game that is actually profitable is the Firelands vendor that sells the Sleek Flamewrath Cloaks. Now this item is worth 250g off the bat, but if you are exalted with the faction, and you are a part of a level 24 guild with all the passive price decreases your overall price with come down as low as 148g per item, but if you take into account that you will be getting extra procs on extra shards due to your guild perk, then the end price is even lower . This price is actually even lower then the price of the Maelstroms on certain servers where their price goes as high as 250-300g, so it might be a good strategy to simply buy, DE and then sell the items on the Auction House for clean profit.

So now you are at the point where you have all the patterns, and a way to obtain all the materials so all you need is the items to put up on the Auction House. The best way to have all your bases covered is to craft two of each enchants on a vellum, and then put them up on the auction house. As for pricing, you should use a fairly easy setup where the lowest price would be the combined worth of all the mats, while the maximum price would be a 300% profit. This would leave you always in the positive while keeping your profits as high as possible.

You will find it that the bracer enchants, as well as the weapon enchants are the ones that move the fastest and yield the most profit so if you want some quick profit keep a closer eye on those.

Now there it is, the whole deal with the enchanting, and no matter how much you want to divide or complicate this is everything there is to the end game enchanting market. Like I said setting up TSM should be fairly simple and with the mass posting option that TSM  offers as well it should be a cake walk to post and check for undercuts on your enchants.

One last thing before you leave. As a Enchanter you will have the ability to craft a companion, the Enchanted Lantern / Magic Lamp depending on your faction which is still a good selling companion and it shouldn't be simply put off the sales list.

So, like always, keep an eye out for good opportunities out there.

The Ore Shuffle

The Obsidium Shuffle, or the Elementium Shuffle known by most is the grand jewel of Cataclysm that made many goblins very rich. Now here is the funny thing, even though we are nearing the end of the expansion and almost everything is out there, and everyone is making gold off the gold tricks and tips there are still people that have never heard of the Shuffle. The reason for making this post is quite simple, i have been trying to help people make gold on my server for a while now, and since i started the blog i had a place where i can redirect with anything they might want to know, but i saw that i didn't have a topic that explains the Shuffle so here it is.

The Ore Shuffle ( taken from the Consortium site )
As you can see from the image above it is very self explanatory, but i will go into a bit of explaining just in case. Just so you know in order to take the full extent of the profits the shuffle brings you need to have a Jewelcrafter, Blacksmith, Enchanter and Tailor (this one is optional).

The entire shuffle starts with the purchase of Obsidium, Elementium & Pyrite ore. Once you have bought them you have a choice, that choice boils down on whether you want to prospect the ore for the gems or you want to manufacture Heavenly Shards. In order to find out which one would be more profitable you need to check out your prices for the Heavenly Shards and if they are high, or you are low for your enchanting market you might want to go that way, but at the same time you want to check the prices of Greater Celestial Essences and the Infinite Dust as that is what you can get if you choose to take the prospecting road.

If you go with the prospect option you need to know how to get from having Alicite, Hessonite, Jasper and Nightstone into Heavenly Shards adn Greater Celestial Essences. By crafting the gems into rings and pendants and then disenchanting them you get to have the finished product. Now one of the things you should be aware is that if you decide to go this way you should know that you have a chance to get a rare (blue) ring or a Pendant. Now there is a bit of a trick here, and that trick is the item level of the items you end up getting and i will explain why.

If you are using Jasper then you are taking the best deal because the jasper is the only one that requires only one gem to make a ring, opposed to the other ones which will require you to spend 2 gems to make a single item. But this is not the best part, the best part is that when you end up getting a rare (blue) item, it is going to be a level requirement of 79 which makes it ideal for twinks and leveling characters, and i have been selling them anywhere from 300g to 50g, and that for a 3g gem is a 10000% profit margin.

If you are using Hessonite and Nightstone for your crafting you will need to spend 2 of them to get a single item. This on it's own puts it at 50% efficiency, and the other thing is that the rare (blue) items you get have a item requirement of 81 so the twinks are no longer your targeted market. But it's not all gloom and doom, and that is because if you disenchant these rings you get Heavenly Shards, as well as increased chance to get Greater Celestial Essences from disenchanting the green items.

I really don't see a point in explaining that you need to cut the rare gems and post them on the Auction House as that is quite obvious. And at the end of the explanation i can only offer to give you a place where you can get the best spreadsheet that can automatically tell you which road is the best to take, and which will make you the most gold. The site i'm talking about is the Consortium forums which will give you the most awesome weapon you can wield if you take on to do the Shuffle.

So, like always, keep an eye out for good opportunities out there.

Enchanting Your Way To Profit

Today we'll take a bit of time to cover the enchanting aspect of the game and what it does and how to get the profits from doing all that enchanting so lets begin.

Before i start going in details i would like to point out that there are many, and i do mean MANY people out there that have claimed that they can't level up their enchanting due to the fact that it's too expensive and they can't afford it, well if you are one of those people you are DEAD WRONG. Enchanting just happens to be one of the only professions that happens to be able to get profit from anything you enchant with a bit of a patience. ( Before i continue going on about what to do here is what NOT to do, DON'T enchant a single enchant on your own item over and over overwriting the previous enchant just so you can level, but instead put the enchants on a enchanting vellum usually found from the inscription supplier).

So there you are leveling enchanting and in the process of it's leveling you are putting all your enchanting runs in a vellum and now instead of a wasted enchant on a useless piece of gear that you will never use you have a bag full of enchanting vellums that you can sell to the AH to make profit. I will not go about telling you which ones to choose to level it up faster or to make profit because that is always in a state of a flux which means you will have to check the prices of the enchants on the AH and see which ones are worth making so you can turn a profit on them.  (FOR A GUIDE ON POWERLEVELING ENCHANTING)

Ok so you've followed the guide there and now you've gotten to the point where you can't level any more seeing as how you are 525 and maxed out so what now, well it's simple PROFIT TIME!

One of the first things you want to do is go to your trainer and next to him you'll find a guy selling patterns for you to learn new 525 enchants ( It used to be that the only place you could get those enchants was from the vendor in Twilight Highlands but they changed it so now everyone can get it ). After you've learned those enchants which you can buy for enchanting materials as currency you should be prepared to shell out some gold and purchase the enchanting formulas which are the four main enchants for bracers ( Agility, Strength, Intellect and Stamina) as these are gonna be a major seller and a good boost to your own version of the Piles'O Gold image above.

So now you've leveled up to 525 you've bought the Formulas from the vendor and you've acquired the ones from the AH (they are world BoE so if you were lucky enough to get em that way good for you) so what's the next step ?  Well the next step is the minimum effort maximum profit time. You need to open up TSM and in there make a section where you will input every single scroll you can make and value it up according to how much the worth is on the materials that are needed for that particular item and then set your upper threshold to be something like x8 of the base cost of the materials while the lowest point would be something like 150% of the worth of the materials. So for an example if you are selling a X enchant that requires Y,Z to make and the cost of Y,Z is 100g then you post the upper price as 800g and the lowest price at 150g that way no matter what you will be making profit seeing as how the posting fee for the scrolls is close to nothing. ( In case you don't know how to tweak out TSM check out the previous post covering that issue)

Normally now that you are 85 and maxed out you will want to be able to enchant yourself as well as your friends which is just normal and you should expect other people to want the same thing, meaning to get their gear enchanted with the best possible enchant there is and that's the top tier enchanting which is good but don't forget about posting the enchants that twinks will want for their characters as those enchants hold almost as much profit if not more as the top tier enchants. I'll post a few of the enchants on which you should keep your eye out for:

Enchant Chest - Greater Stamina
Enchant Chest - Mighty Resilience
Enchant Chest - Peerless Stats

These three should be on your scope because they are one of the fastest moving scrolls due to the high demand for them (the resilience one is dirt cheap so if there aren't any on the AH use this to your advantage and make huge profits)

Enchant Weapon - Hurricane
Enchant Weapon - Landslide
Enchant Weapon - Windwalk

These three are the top sellers for the weapons division and 99% of the players out there depending on their spec and class will want one of these bad boys slapped on their weapon.

( !!! THIS DOES NOT MEAN YOU ONLY SELL THOSE 6 ENCHANTS !!! )

But that's not all like i said previously you need to be selling all the enchants not only the top tier ones because people that are leveling alts or have chosen to take up playing a twink at a lower level bracket will not be able to use those enchants due to their item level requirement, so that's the market that you will be selling the enchants to. So like i said don't forget about those and respect the old school because it will bring you in some SERIOUS profits, and just for a clarification i will even put down a few enchants that have sold well for me in the past and have made a killer profit.

Enchant Weapon - Crusader  (if you don't have the enchant check out the post about acquiring it)
Enchant Weapon - Fiery Weapon
Enchant Weapon - Spellpower
Enchant Weapon - Mighty Intellect
Enchant Weapon - Mighty Spirit
Enchant Weapon - Strength

And all of these enchants are the enchants that all the twinks will want for their weapons so keep an eye out for their materials as this market is very unpredictable as for materials costs where on some days you'll be able to pick up the materials for 1g while the next day will spike to 100g so keep an eye out for those prices and if no one is selling those on the AH then you can make a killing on selling those.

Well that's about it for starting out in making gold with Enchanting and like always keep your eyes peeled for good opportunities out there.
